Watch what Tzaneen’s young people think about Youth Day

Letaba Herald took to the streets of Tzaneen to ask young people what June 16 is all about.

One would think that everyone or maybe most young people would have at least an idea about Youth Day or its significance.

Letaba Herald went out to the streets of Tzaneen and asked young people what June 16 in South Africa symbolises and most just simply did not know.

Only one out of seven teenagers knew exactly what the nation would be celebrating on the day.

Only after the words, ‘Youth Day’ were mentioned did some bells start ringing.

“We are celebrating the youth, but I don’t know why we are really celebrating the day,” one of the teens said.
