TZANEEN: Police search for two wanted suspects

The duo are being sought for a hijacking committed in October 2017 in which a 50-year-old businesswoman and her son were hijacked and shot in Nkowankowa.

Provincial Detectives have launched a massive manhunt for two dangerous fugitives in connection with a series of trio crimes, including serious and violent crimes.

Preliminary police investigations revealed that the duo might be hiding in Pretoria in Gauteng.

“It is alleged that three suspects hijacked the victims, drove to the business partner’s homestead in Nkowankowa and robbed the victims of eight buckets of gold, with an estimated street value of R5 million as well as two cellphones, one of which was later recovered. They fled the scene with the woman and her son tied up in the boot of their vehicle,” Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepehe explained.

“The South African Police Service are requesting Gideon Sambo from Rhulani village in the Burgersdorp area, outside Tzaneen and Kabelo (surname unknown) from Pretoria in the Gauteng Province, to come to Maake or Ritavi Police Stations near Tzaneen or to go to the nearest police station in order to assist them with their investigations in this matter.
