GIYANI: Patients chased away as ‘hospital is full’

They accuse the hospital of serving patients rotten food and of having lots of mosquitoes and cockroaches.

Patients at Nkhensani Hospital in Giyani are chased away from the hospital and are forced to sleep on the floor.

This according to one patient who says they were chased away from the hospital. The patient was told that they must go back home, because the hospital was full and had no beds.

“We feel so let down by our own government. “We are chased away from a place where we are supposed to get life and to be treated in a dignified manner. We want the MEC of Health, Phophi Ramathuba to probe this hospital. “We also want the Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motswaledi, to come down here to listen to our cries,” said an angry patient.

They accuse the hospital of serving patients rotten food and of having lots of mosquitoes and cockroaches.

They added that there is a bush in the yard which raises fear that snakes or wild animals can get inside the wards through the window and can harm them.

Letaba Herald still awaits a response from the Department of Health.
