ACORNHOEK: “Teen raped, stabbed and left to die”

The Acornhoek police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a 16-year-old girl who was allegedly raped, stabbed and left to die on January 7.
“The deceased had stab wounds on the face and head, she was facing down in a pool of blood, naked,” stated Mpho Nonyane, Acornhoek police spokeswoman.
Another suspect in the murder was killed in a case of mob justice, for his alleged involvement in the crime.
The body of the 31-year-old man was discovered on Saturday, January 13 in Zoeknog Trust, Acornhoek
“We urge the community to continue cooperating with the police and courts to put the people who committed the gruesome murder behind bars. I am appealing to our people to cooperate with the criminal justice system, by reporting criminals and making statements to the police, so that criminals may be sentenced accordingly,” said the Provincial Commissioner, General Mondli Zuma.
