HOEDSPRUIT: Missing woman abandons baby at taxi rank

The Hoedspruit police are investigating a missing person’s case that was filed on November 29.

According to information Valery Mmakgomo Mmola (34) went to Burgersfort to visit with her one year old son.

When she arrived at The Oaks taxi rank, she called her sister to come and assist her with her luggage”, state Sergeant Livhuwani Mulaudzi, Hoedspruit police spokeswoman.

It is alleged that her sister arrived at the taxi rank at around 14:00, she was confused when she found her sisters son with an unknown man.

“It is still unknown to the police whether the woman drove off in the taxi that was supposed to drop them off at their destination or whether she got off and fled by foot”, Mulaudzi added.

“When her sister arrived home with baby, the mother immediately called her son-in-law to check whether she was home with him but only to discover that she was not there.”

The woman’s whereabouts are still unknown and the Hoedspruit police calls on anyone with information to contact Captain Moriri on 0825734773.
