Giyani Chief donates food and uniforms to the poor

"I'm not rich, but whatever little that I have, I give to the poor."

A well-known Traditional leader , Livhuwani Matsila of Matsila village outside Giyani has donated food and uniforms to the poor at the Back to the Creator Church in Muledane recently.

This came after local pastor Murunwa Tshigomana invited him to the area to come help the needy.

According to him, it was  good to invest in the children as they needed assistance because they are  the future leaders, doctors and engineers who will help in developing our areas.

“I’m not rich, but whatever little that I have, I give to the poor. Whatever my children eat also the orphans will eat,” said Matsila.

He explained that even though the government is doing a lot to fight poverty, more still needs to be done as there are still people who goes to bed hungry.

“This partnership between me and the church is bearing fruits as it helps to eradicate poverty in our villages”, said Matsila

“After receiving a call to help I didn’t think twice about lending a helping hand because I pictured myself been in that situation and I decided to help them,” he said.

“I didn’t want this children to add in the increasing crime rate that our country is facing because, criminals are forced to do crime because of circumstances,” he added.

Pastor Murunwa Tshigomana , applauded the traditional leader for the good gesture and called for many to emulate him.

“As the Church and Village we would like to thank the Chief for what he has done to us. May the good lord bless him. We call others to emulate him and help emulate poverty in our respective communities,” she said.

“This will send a strong message to the community that it is good to come together and assist where there is a need,” said Tshigomana.
