TZANEEN: A woman shot over stokvel money

Two armed suspects pounced on them, they demanded money and started shooting randomly, injuring one of them and subsequently, a large amount of money was robbed before they fled the scene.

A group of Stokvel ladies received the shock of their lives when two men pounced on them when they were about to share their stokvel mone  at Ga-Seaphole village in the Mokwakwaila Policing area, outside Tzaneen on Sunday, December 10, the police said.

It is alleged that at about 13:00, a group of 45 women were gathered at a house to share their collected money.

“During this sharing process inside the locked house, two armed suspects pounced on them, they demanded money and started shooting randomly, injuring one of them and subsequently, a large amount of money was robbed before they fled the scene,” said Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe. Similar cases have been reported all over the province including, Acornhoek, Burgersfort and Lenyenye Township.
