TZANEEN: Cash and Carry turns 19

Tzaneen Cash and Carry, celebrated 19 years of excellent service to its customers in style on Friday November 10.

The wholesaler celebrated the wonderful occasion with their customers by sharing a cake with them as a token of appreciation.

It was officially opened to the public on November 9 1998 and has been growing from strength to strength ever since.

Five employees who began with the retailer are still working at the store and are ever dedicated to their job.

Tzaneen Cash & Carry Marketing Manager, Ruffat Mokonyane, celebrating their 19th birthday with some of their customers.

Annanius Mafeto, Jonas Homu, Samuel Mashitwa, Peter Mashao and Hitler Maimela says it has been a great journey working for the store until now.

Mashao is the liquor section manager and Maimela is now the Wholesale division manager.

“We are very excited for having been in business for such a long time and still going strong.

We also would like to thank our customers for the wonderful support that they gave us through out the years and we also appeal to them to continue supporting us,” said Ruffat Mokonyane, General Manager.

The wholesaler started with 35 employees and it currently has about 100 permanent employees of which five of began with the business from day one.

“Tzaneen Cash and Carry is an employer of choice because, we have over 100 permanent employees, we do not have contract workers and many of them have been with us for many years,” added Mokonyane.

The wholesaler is getting ready for its busiest season, the stokvel period which starts from late November until December of each year.

Mokonyane also encouraged stokvel groups to use the safer method of depositing money at the store rather than carring large sums of money in and out of the bank.

But to come to the store instead and ask for the store’s account numbers from the manager only and transfer the money to avoid possible dangers during the busy time.
