HOEDSPRUIT: Manhunt on for cash-in-transit heist suspects

A massive manhunt was launched by Hoedspruit police after a cash-in-transit heist on the R40 road on Tuesday afternoon.

It is believed that 10 suspects armed with automatic rifles and pistols shot several shots at the G4S cash-in-transit vehicle before blowing it up with explosives, according to a statement from the provincial police spokesperson, LT Colonel Moatshe’ Ngoepe.

Another vehicle was shot at during the heist but no one was injured.

“They subsequently fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money using a white BMW, silver A4 Audi and a white Toyota bakkie with unknown registration numbers, the statement further read.

The suspects are unknown and no arrests have been made.

No one was injured in the incident.
