The Old Packhouse Gins, started by local Mark Dando, entered two of their finest gins, the Crystal Gin and the Valencia Gin, into the Craft Gin category at the national awards.
The awards are set out to commemorate only the finest spirits and wines from across the country, so to even be considered for the award is a major achievement.
However, Mark Dando did more than simply be considered, they managed to really put themselves out there.
Their Crystal Gin won a Gold in the Craft Gin category, while their Valencia infused gin won a highly-coveted Double Gold.
The awards took place in Cape Town last night and this will most definitely be a game changer for our local gin-crafters.
