BREAKING: Water shortage leads to violent protests around Tzaneen

The streets are marked by a convoy of cars trying to make their way out of the township.

The atmosphere in Ga -Kgapane is very dangerous at the moment as the service delivery protest erupted into violence this morning.

Demonstrators demand that their plea to service delivery get addressed.

‘There is  little or no police visibility and residents have blocked the roads with stones,’ Letaba Herald was informed.

According to an  eyewitness, school children can be seen everywhere in the township streets, workers are stranded and cant get to work in Tzaneen and surrounding areas.

The streets are marked by a convoy of cars trying to make way out of the township.

Matric preliminaries are on and some have missed their paper already.

Apparently another service delivery protest took place in the Nwamitwa villages outside Tzaneen over water issues.

A resident told Letaba Herald that they have been experiencing water shortages for the past three months and the water trucks does not reach all the villages in the Nwamitwa area.
