TZANEEN: It’s BINGO! So fat lady and a little wee, straight on through and time for tea…

The development is great news for our town’s economy.

It’s all systems go, and Tzaneeners can start learning the Bingo lingo.

The application for a Bingo Operating License was granted to Galaxy Bingo Gaming and Entertainment.

The applicant and presumed holding company is New Town Grill (Pty) (Ltd). Letaba Herald revealed in September that three applicants were in line to get the green light from the Gambling Board to operate a bingo gambling operation locally. They were Galaxy Bingo, Bingo-Bingo and Bingo Royal. Galaxy Bingo’s application was successful.

The proposed site is on the corner of Danie Joubert and Lannie Street, where ABSA Bank is currently doing business. Construction and renovation have already started and it is all systems go!

According to the original application, of which Letaba Herald has a copy, the proposed bingo development will be developed by the applicant at a direct construction and shop-fitting cost of R20 million (excluding electronic bingo equipment and rentals) and will incorporate a total development of 5 000m2, offering: a Bingo area with an initial offering of 200 EBT’s, to be increased by a further 100 to 300 EBT’s once gross gaming revenue has reached their threshold.

It also includes a restaurant, offering a superior dining experience at competitive prices; A unique dual sit-down bar area, fitted with flat screen LED TV’s featuring sporting and similar events; Conference facilities, a reception area with tourism information technology, a boutique hotel, a child-minding facility, and ample dedicated parking facilities for patrons.

The development is great news for our town’s economy.

The existing premises will be transformed into an upmarket, fully integrated bingo and entertainment destination of the highest quality.

80 new, permanent and sustainable employment opportunities will be created at site level of which 100% will be reserved for Limpopo residents and 95% will be drawn from black local communities.

Approximately 176 indirect jobs will be created. 120 new construction jobs over a three month construction period will also be created. It is unclear when this exciting development will be open to the public. According to documentation the opening is scheduled for eight months after the issue of the licence.

‘Fat lady and a little wee, Straight on through and time for tea,’ whatever the number may be, get yourself equipped with the Bingo lingo!
