67 minutes for Mandela: Radio station donates computers

As part of doing good for Mandela Day, Capricorn FM devoted 67 minutes of their time by donating a fully equipped computer lab to Dumela High School in Julesburg.

July 18 is Nelson Mandela International Day and everyone is encouraged to spend 67 minutes on a worthy cause.

Capricorn FM is hopeful that the computer lab will leave a lasting effect and legacy for the school and surrounding communities.

The Station together with its sponsors revamped a room that was formerly utilised as a storeroom into a brand new computer lab.

The lab fitted with 20 computers was handed over by Capricorn FM Management Rofhiwa Bologo (station manager), Ntsieni Ramabulana (marketing manager) and Javulani Nkolele (programs manager).

They were assisted by First Technology account manager, Keith Badenhorst and Paint Pot’s head of sales, Vincent Rabothata.

The school’s principal, Joseph Nkwinika said they feel honoured that they received computers without even applying for them.

“We are blessed as a school. Our matriculants can now apply for tertiary education and bursaries online using these computers,” Nkwinika said.

Capricorn FM strongly believe in education being accessible to all and have therefore taken a solid stance in ensuring that they provide the next generation with a head start.
