Tzaneen: Local churches pray for police

The Tzaneen Cluster Commander, Major General Maggy Mathebula in partnership with Churches and Pastor's Fratenity hosted the SAPS Prayer Day at AFM Fountain of Life Church in Nkowankowa Township on Sunday.

The theme of the prayer was inspired by the scripture found in Nehemiah 2:18 which states that ” And they said let us arise up and build (back to the basics), so they strengthened their hands to good work.”

The main purpose of the occasion was to pray for the SAPS members and their families.

Last year the Tzaneen Cluster hosted the National SAPS Prayer Day in Dan Village at Dandee Sports Ground.

“As the SAPS we saw it fit to involve pastors to pray against the killings of the police and all people,” said Major Gen Maggie Mathebula during the national prayer day last year.

Some of the stakeholders who were part of the prayer included Major Mathebula, Dr Moses Shipalana, Station Commanders and their members, Community Policing Forum (CPF), Community Safety Forum (CSF) and members of the community.
