The school was among other schools which represented the province and selected players in various sporting codes during the games.
The performances of DZJ and other selected teams from Limpopo have improved, the province moved from position 8 in 2016 to number 5 in 2017.

DZJ Team manager Eddie Mondlane thanked the School, School Governing Body, schools sports committee and the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture and also the Department of Education for the support they received.
Modlane also added that they are now preparing a team to compete in the Summer games for Rugby 7s to be held when school re-opens in the Ritavi circuit.
