Police condemn the killing of a 16 year old girl

The mutilated body of a 16 year old girl has been found in a local river

Rirhandzu Manganyi went missing on July 02 after she left her home in the afternoon to relive herself in the nearby bushes and she never returned.

“Her dismembered body was found by young boys when they went fishing in the river.

The motive for this murder is unknown but ritual murder cannot be ruled out,” said Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.

Manganyi is from Gumbani Village in the Malamulele policing area and her body was found in Shigwendzi River.

The police management in the Limpopo Province are perturbed by unrelenting incidents of ritual murders that have become the scourge that requires strong partnerships with all stakeholders.

“In the past few months similar incidents in which people, especially women, went missing and later found dead have become a worrying factor, especially in the Vhembe and Mopani districts,” added Brigadier Mojapelo

Meanwhile Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo, has condemned the recent killings of women who first go missing and later found all over the province.

“The police will not rest until all perpetrators and the accomplices are brought to book,” said General Ledwaba.

He also urged the communities to rally around and isolate these merciless and faceless individuals who seem to be hellbent on destroying the moral fiber in the minds of peaceful and progressive South Africans.
