PHALABORWA: Be prepared for dry Wednesday ahead

Phalaborwa residents are urged to use their water sparingly tomorrow, July 12, as they face yet another lengthy water restriction.

Ba-Phalaborwa residents are hereby informed by the Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality that there will be water shortages on July 12 for a period of 15 hours, from 06:00 to 21:00.

“We are appealing to our communities to use water sparingly”

BPM’s Communications Manager, Mr Jonas Mahesu, said that the Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) will be executing a thoroughly planned maintenance work that will satisfy the residents’ water needs at Phalaborwa scheme. Mahesu further explained that reservoirs will be kept at the maximum prior to the shutdown.

However, low water pressure and water shortages may be experienced throughout the entire supply area. In addition, he said that some areas may experience low pressure and low shortages of water. “We are appealing to our communities to use water sparingly,” Mahesu said. Residents are advised to cut daily water usage as it has been recorded to be exceedingly high. This is to ensure that water services can be maintained and delivered accordingly.
