Police save lives and car-jacking

The Tzaneen and Ritavi Police Station members jointly recovered a Mercedes Benz that was just hijacked from Murudji Village in the Bolobedu area last week.

The victim was approached just after arriving at his gate, hijacked and kidnapped him.

They then drove with him to Lenyenye in the Maake policing area where they kidnapped his girlfriend.

The police were patrolling in the vicinity and the suspects noted the patrol van and they sped off towards Lephephani Village in the Ritavi police precinct with both victims in the car.

“Another patrolling van at hand blocked the route of the fleeing suspects.

The suspects then jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot into the nearby bushes leaving the victims in the car,” explained Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe

Ngoepe also added that the Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant Gen Nneke Ledwaba commended all members of the police who were involved in saving the lives of the victim and he also send out a strong warning to criminals that the police will continue limiting the space of criminals.

Police investigations and tracing of the suspects are continuing.
