Tzaneen: GTFM- radio gives back to community

"We came here as part of reaching out to the community, appreciating the support of the community and also giving back to the creche..."

The Greater Tzaneen Radio Station (GTFM) in partnership with Maake (SAPS) hosted an Easter Celebration at Hluvukani Creche in Julesburg on Saturday.

The community of Julesburg honoured the occasion with a high attendance from toddlers to grannies.

“We came here as part of reaching out to the community, appreciating the support of the community and also giving back to the creche,” said Gail Nkuna, GTFM Marketing Manager.

The creche also celebrated 34 years of existence since it was established in 1983 and currently boasts of 110 learners from the local community.

Some members of the crowd were given goodies and were also given a chance to go live on air.

Pastor Lawrence Ndlovu from Kingdom Talk Church, motivated the audience with the topic “things do not get better by chance but by change”.

“We are very happy as Hluvukani Creche for the visit and we highly appreciate the gifts that they brought us, ” said Getrude Shikwambana, Principal of Hluvukani Creche.

The theme of the day was ‘#Julesburg hi fikile’ which means ‘Julesburg we have arrived’ as the presenters and the crowd regularly chanted during the event.

The crowd was also treated to live performances by Dj Freeman, Dj Jimaro, Jumbaley Dee, Msiza, Dr Justin, Pastor Tom, TUS (Top United Soldiers), Ck and Janisto.
