HOEDSPRUIT: Suspect sentenced for suppression of witchcraft

The suspect accused Mashile of bewitching his friend at an initiation school and this resulted in his house being set alight by the community.

The President of Bushbuckridge Residents Association (BRA), Delta Mokoena appeared before the Acornhoek magistrate court on Monday (March 27) for the two years he was convicted for in 2014.

“The suspect was sentenced for suppression of witchcraft and for accusing the Induna, Ranson Mashile for practicing witchcraft”, stated Nonyane.

The suspect accused Mashile of bewitching his friend at an initiation school and this resulted in Mashile’s house being set alight by the community.

Meanwhile, the Acornhoek police are investigating the death of an eight year old boy who was shocked by electricity on his way home from school on March 2 in Plaza View, Acornhoek.

“The minor sustained wounds on the left side of his body and was certified dead on the scene, stated Acornhoek police spokesperson Captain Mpho Nonyane.
