An agricultural skills class was recently held at Modjadji for graduates and agricultural enthusiasts.

Seripe Agricultural Skills Development Projects held its first Agricultural class for 2017 which was attended by students from Medingen, Ga-Malematja and Ga-Kgapane.

The founder of Seripa Mapula Moloto and the marketing manager Kgotlelelo Mainetja both young women are originally from Limpopo and running the company in Gauteng.

Seripa introduces communities to a six week course which is both theoretical and practical and at the end assist the benefactors to register cooperatives in order to generate income and some are placed in existing farms.

“The Project was established after identifying the need and importance of practical, technical and business skills development within the agricultural sector,”said Moloto, director of Seripa Skills Project.

One of the objectives of the project is to empower beneficiaries to understand that agriculture is not only for food security, but that it can also be a sustainable business that is capable of developing rural economies, added Moloto.
