HOEDSPRUIT: Suspects blow up liquor store safe

“Once the safe was located the suspects used explosives to blow the safe open, and managed to get away with an undisclosed amount of money”

The Acornhoek police are investigating a business robbery that occurred at Harmony Liquor store on Sunday afternoon.

“An unknown number of suspects arrived on the scene armed with rifles and pistols and managed to instruct all the security guards on duty to abandon their points while entering the store”, stated Acornhoek police spokesperson, Captain Mpho Nonyane.

The suspects pointed firearms at the manager without firing shots while demanding the whereabouts of the safe.

“Once the safe was located the suspects used explosives to blow the safe open, and managed to get away with an undisclosed amount of money”, Nonyane Told the Herald.

The police are still investigating the type of explosives used as it is still unknown to them.

No arrests have been made and the Acornhoek police calls out to anyone with information and the whereabouts of the suspects to report to their nearest police station or to contact The Acornhoek police station 0n 013 795 8012.
