UPDATE: Dan Village violence case postponed

It is believed that the murders are a result of animosity between Bokoharam (from Dan Village) and Masakhinya (from Mokgolobotho Village).

The criminal case of the Dan Village gang violence was postponed without bail at the Ritavi Magistrate Court on March 8.

The 16 suspects, aged between 19 and 46 accused of brutally killing two people and critically injuring one person in Dan Village in February appeared in court.

It is believed that the murders are a result of animosity between Bokoharam (from Dan Village) and Masakhinya (from Mokgolobotho Village).

The two deceased have been laid to rest three weeks ago.

The community of Dan Village seems to be calm at the moment as the Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, intensified security in and around the area.

” We are still requesting members of the community to support the police in all their endeavors to eradicate crime in the area,” said Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

Another group of suspects appeared on Friday (March 10) in the Ritavi Magistrate Court.
