Mopani appoints Republic

The Mopani District Municipal Council has appointed Republic Monakedi as the new Municipal Manager, Faith Maboya as Director for Planning and Development and Paradise Shilowa as Director for Engineering Services

APPOINTED: Republic Monakedi the newly appointed Mopani District Municipality Manager.

The council took a resolution to appoint three during a special sitting held at the Disaster Management Centre on the 21st of February 2017.

The post of Municipal Manager has been vacant for over a year since the dismissal of the former Municipal Manager in January 2016 while the Engineering and the Planning and Development posts became vacant after the contracts of the former directors expired in July and August 2016 respectively.

The three brings requisite qualifications and skills and a wealth of experience in their respective fields also within the local government sector.

Monakedi is the Municipal Manager of Greater Tzaneen Municipality, Maboya is the Director for Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation for Polokwane Municipality while Shilowa is Manager for Water and Sanitation for Polokwane Municipality as well.

The Executive Mayor extends her best wishes to the new appointees in their new responsibilities.

“We hope that their wealth of knowledge and experienced coupledwith their qualifications will assist the district municipality to expedite the delivery of services to our communities,” said Executive Mayor Rakgoale.
