Dan violence leads to search for missing mother

The family of one of the people who were butchered over the weekend in Dan and Lusaka Village outside Tzaneen is searching for the deceased's mother.

Freedom ‘Figo’ Nukeri (26) was brutally killed by a gang allegedly called ‘Masakhina’ from Mokgolobotho on Sunday morning.

The Nukeri family is pleading to anyone who might have information on Freedom’s mother, Violet Ndlovu, who’s whereabouts are unknown, to please come forward.

“Ndlovu told us she was from the Transkei, her parents stayed in Springs in Gauteng and she was a domestic worker and was Xhosa speaking,” said Maggie Nukeri, Freedom’s Sister.

It is believed that Ndlovu was last in contact with the family in 1993 when she separated from the deceased’s father who passed in 2006.

The father of a three year old boy will be laid to rest on Saturday at his home in Lusaka.

Nukeri ended his education journey in Grade 11 and he had just started a job at a construction company in Tzaneen in the beginning of February.

The sister of the deceased added that it would be helpful if they could get hold of Freedom’s mother before the funeral takes place.

Investigations of the murders are continuing.

Anyone with information of Violet Ndlovu can contact Maggie Nukeri on 073 456 3302.
