PHALABORWA: Maseke gets a drop-in

The children of Maseke drop-in centre were the lucky recipients of school uniform worth R5 000, on Wednesday, January 18.

This comes after African Bank, in collaboration with Capricorn FM, ran a competition urging companies to send videos of how cool their workplaces are, in the hope of winning a Christmas party for the office.

Maseke drop-in centre is an NGO catering for 203 needy children and orphans.

The centre currently has 10 dedicated unemployed women from the Masekeng village volunteering to assist the children.

The winners, Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality were given R5 000 to donate to a charity of their choice.

Maseke drop-in centre was chosen to receive this donation.

Deputy Director of Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality, maria Makhongela said, “I take this as a privilege to give something back to our needy community and I am grateful that African bank and Capricorn FM have given us the privilege of making an impact in their lives.”

The staff and children of Maseke, visibly excited for their new uniforms, sang songs of praise and happiness.

Manager of the centre, Sinah Magomane, expressed her gratitude and joy, “I am so thankful to African Bank and Capricorn FM for this selfless deed.

I pray God gives us more strength to help the less privileged and disadvantaged.

This encourages us as a whole to keep doing our jobs diligently.”

Capricorn FM Station Manager, Rofhiwa “Tholi B” Bologo added, “We pride ourselves on being an organisation that wants to build a progressive Limpopo and grass roots level is something that is very important to us, which is why we are starting with the little ones because they are the future of not only this province but this country as a whole.

We cannot touch all corners but we will do as much as we can.
