Grade 12 results outcome

The Department of Education in Limpopo, announced a 68.2% pass rate, a decline of 3.5% from 71.7% in 2015 last Thursday.

The Mopani District Municipality, was named the second best district in the province for overall pass percentage.

Mopani had 18 833 learners writing the exams and 12 367 passed which makes a 65.7% pass rate at the district.

Modubaste Secondary School, received position nine with 118 Bachelors, followed by Hoerskool Ben Vorster and Merensky High School, with 116 and 111 bachelors respectively in the Top 20 Public Schools with Bachelor pass.

Mkateko Mabuza was named the best learner in the district from Independent Schools with 1702 marks excluding Life Orientation from St Georges College in Nkowankowa.

Hoerskool Ben Vorster’s, Abel Hermanus Nortje, held position 21 with 1669 marks and Duncan Mabasa from Risinga High School received position 10 with 1691 marks erxcluding Life Orientation from in the categporyPublic Schools.

The class of 2016 had its own hurdles which included Vuwani and the Mathematics Paper 2 leakage in Giyani.

The Vuwani situation did not affect the learners results as Vhembe District Municipality was named the best district in the province in terms of overall pass percentage.
