SA Community Crime Watch, the Hawks and SAPS are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that will assist them in their ongoing investigations into the increasing extortion reports.
An increasing number of cases of extortion has been reported.
Victims are contacted via WhatsApp and demanded to pay over sums of money.
Failing to do so will result in pornographic and obscene images posted to their social media platforms.
There are many victims out there and the assistance of our communities is necessary in order to bring the perpetrators to book.
Anyone receiving such threats is urged to report it, open a case at their local SAPS and inform SACCW –
