The editorial team of the news room at the Letaba Herald was asked to leave the premises immediately at around 11:00 this morning.
This comes after an investigation that was conducted and it was found that, one computer in specific, that got access to Google Analytics revealed that Letaba Herald’s website had 1. 314, 491 million unique page views and 1, 519, 144 mill page views to date for 2016.
‘All staff were asked to leave the premises. We are out on a warning,’ an anonymous journalist said.
It is believed that only the necessary equipment was to be taken out of the office, like cameras, cellphone, smartphones, tablets and laptops.
Upon asking the News Editor and Journalist, Bertus de Bruyn, why this was compulsory, he stated fast, and on the run…
‘No comment…but you know, news never sleeps. You never know what can happen in the next minute, or the next hour…’
The journalists, editor, editor in chief and news editors left the building.
‘They’ve been asked to leave. Computers can only take so much traffic. Servers need to reset,’ someone overheard a 2016 Caxton graduate cadet saying, who will be permanently employed next year.
The offices of Letaba Herald is now closed and under strict security measures until January 3 where skeleton staff will operate in each department.

Most of the staff were asked to report back to the ‘jail-news-house’ on January 9 next year.
It is uncertain at this stage if any one will be asked to appeal and a firm warning was sent out to them that no parole will be considered and a possible fine, is to be charged at the 2 million mark by December next year round about this time.
According to a note found in the news room, local, breaking, national and international news as well as Christmas content will still be published and their Facebook friends need not to fear as links will still be published and keep everyone updated.
It is uncertain from where this activity will take place, and is currently under investigation.
‘It is definitely not far from here, but some underground activity to keep social media and the website alive is certain.’ A curious bystander said there was chaos as the staff members fled the building in a commotion of hooters, cheers and goodbyes.
