Different dancers perform their hearts out

The following dancers of The Dance Place of Tzaneen under the guidance of Annemieke Osmers, took part in the Pretoria Regional South African Dance School Championships Competition 2016.

The dancers dance in different dance styles, age categories and levels.

With more than 30 dance schools competing and a strict judge’s panel, the results were as follow: Liam O’Brien competed in the Acrobatic Novice section and got a High Silver of 86% and will take part in the Nationals of this competition in December.

Ruchelle Jacobs competed in the Acrobatics Beginner solo section and got a High Silver of 86%.

Lianell Thompson competed in the Acrobatics Novice solo section and got a Silver of 84.5%.

Carmen Saunders competed in the Modern Jazz Novice solo section and got a Silver of 81.5%.

Sunet Coetzee competed in the Hip Hop Beginner solo section and got a high silver, 87%

Ansuretha Perold competed in the Acrobatics Beginner solo section and got a gold, 90% with a special award of great control, choreography & understanding.

Charlése Fichardt competed in the Hip Hop Beginner solo section and got a silver, 81.5 %

Ansuretha Perold and Stefan Pretorius competed in the Acrobatics Beginner/Novice Duet section and got a gold, 91%

Liam O’Brien and Ruchelle Jacobs competed in the Acrobatics Beginner/Novice Duet section and got a High Silver, 85.5%

Liam O’Brien and Juané Pretorius competed in the Open Duet section and got a High Gold, 95% with a special award;dancing with purpose and conviction.

Tiard Thompson competed in the Hip Hop Novice solo section and got a High Silver, 87%

Tyra du Plessis competed in the Acrobatics Beginner solo section and got a silver, 84%

Marthinus Grobler competed in the Hip Hop Advanced solo section and got a High Gold, 95.5% and a special award;
Kiara van Breda competed in the Hip Hop Beginner solo section and got a High Silver, 87.5%

Carmen Saunders and Tyra du Plessis competed in the Hip Hop Beginner/Novice Duet section and got a High Silver, 88.5%

Diné Booyse and Emily Smith competed in the Hip Hop Beginner/Novice Duet section and got a High Silver, 87%

Liam O’Brien, Juané Pretorius and Carmen Saunders and Eungenie Nagel competed in the Modern Jazz Beginner/Novice Duet section and got a gold, 90% and a silver, 82.5%

Emily Smith received silver, 82.5% and Tyra du Plessis silver, 82% competing in the Open solo section.

Juané Pretorius competed in the Modern Jazz Novice solo section and got a High Silver, 85.5%.

The following dancers , who got a high Silver or higher, will move to a more difficult level of competition in their style of dancing:
Ruchelle Jacobs, Sunet Coetzee, Ansuretha Perold, Stefan Pretorius, Liam O’Brien, Juané Pretorius, Tiard Thompson, Marthinus Grobler, Kiara van Breda, Carmen Saunders, Tyra du plessis, Diné Booyse,Emily Smith.

Marthinus Grobler was invited to the South African Dance School Championships Pretoria Regional Award Ceremony to receive a special award.

Dancers that danced in the category novice and higher solos and/or group from amateur who received high silver or higher medals are invited to take part in the Nationals coming taking place from in December.

The following dancers will attend the next round of competition: Liam O’Brien, Tiard Thompson, Marthinus Grobler, Juané Pretorius.
