Prayer for rain day hosted in Nkowankowa

The current drought situation South Africa is facing has led government to look to divine intervention.

Executive mayor of Mopani district, Nkakareng Rakgoale, hosted the prayer day for rain in Nkowankowa community hall recently.

The occasion was attended by pastors and community members from all around the district.

“When science is unable to provide us with answers to all the questions that life throws at us, we turn to God for wisdom and restoration,” said Rakgoale.

Rakgoale added that soon she will call church leaders into a special imbizo where she hopes to strengthen the dialogue and partnership between government and the church.

“I think this was a brilliant idea by the executive mayor, because I believe God created everything and we have to submit ourselves to him in prayer and I hope it will be a continuous thing,” Phalaborwa Emmanuel church member, Pastor Lucia Hlophe.

Pastor Patrick Mhlongo said that The executive mayor by organising the meeting, just proved that she is the right leader people have hoped she was.
