The Geldenhuys-family landed safely in New York on Sunday at the Kennedy Airport.
The three-year-old cancer warrior, Imke Geldenhuys, and her entire family flew out to New York on Saturday September 17.

IMKE: Tzaneen’s Warrior Angel flying to the USA
Imke’s dad, Darius Geldenhuys sent the following message to the Letaba Herald via WhatsApp from New York:
“Everything happened so fast the last few days…within a day Visas were approved and the tickets booked!
We departed from OR Tambo last Saturday @ 21:00 and arrived in JFK International Airport NY at 07:00am, just over a 15 hour flight.
The twins were busy bodies but Imke was sleeping most of the time. I could not sleep but was ready for the day as we landed.
Maureen and “Federal Agent” were already waiting for us as we landed and stepped out through the airplane door.
The Agent said: “please give me your passports and just walk behind me.’
God prepared the way for us, blessed moments and favour…so thankful.
Within about 15 minutes we were in and out of the airport, through immigration and customs.
A car was waiting outside or us. Normally it would take about 2 to 3 hours…

Imke’s treatment already started the following day (Monday) with x-rays and blood counts etc. Tomorrow she will be getting the MIBG Injections to prep her for Friday’s MIBG scans and bone marrow aspiration tests of the front and back under anesthetic.
Further protocol for next week will be given to us as we go on and as they progress and get results.
The moment confirmed that she is now in remission…Immunotherapy will start.
5 Cycles. 5 to 6 months.
