UPDATE: Police shed more light on filling station robbery

A filling station was robbed last night outside Tzaneen at around 22:00. CCTV footage shows a frightened petrol attendant with one of the armed suspects during the robbery.

In a statement issued by a police spokesperson, Glenda Maimele, it is alleged two armed suspects entered the cash office while an attendant was busy counting money before closing time.

A suspect dragged the attendant to a corner and asked her where the money was.

The petrol attendants outside was also held by gunpoint, by a third robber, and asked where the money was kept.

The robbers fled the scene by foot and one shot was fired while they fled.

An undisclosed amount of money and cellphones were taken.

No one was injured during the robbery and no arrests have been made.
