VIDEO: Students rage over NSFAS funding

Letaba FET College students in Tzaneen are still protesting over their NSFAS funding that they claim to have not received to date.

Some of the students have signed their Schedule of Particulars (SOP) and the Loan Agreement Forms (LAF) and this proves that funds have been allocated to students but their balance is zero.

Students claim that they receive their funding through First National Banks e-wallet services.

Some students claim to have signed a six month contracts and have only received a three month stipend while others claim to have not receive a cent.

A student who does not want to be named explained  how  the e-wallet services charges them extra as they try to access the money and only receive 80 per cent of the money transferred by the FET College for transport and accommodation.

According to the Letaba FET students, they can only receive their NSFAS funds provided they attend 80 per cent of their classes.

Is this condition approved by the NSFAS?

Letaba Herald is still waiting for a response.
