Church members help erect fence at drop centre

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lenyenye laid a helping hand to Reholegile Drop in Centre at Nabane village near Marumofase recently.

This is something the church does annually and even nonmembers are welcome to assist.

They donned their yellow vest written Mormon Helping Hands at the back, that they got from the church.

Although tools were not enough, they tried to use the ones they had.

Their main objective in helping the centre was to erect a fence around the yard.

Holes were rigged to put poles inside with sand, cement and small stones were also dropped inside pits to strengthen the poles.

While the brothers were busy with the poles, the sisters we also busy cleaning and cooking.

Some of the Young Women was helping other community kids to fetch water in a nearby river as part of the service to community.

The leaders of the church managed to invite

non-members to come and witness what was happening.

One of the non-member who was invited by the Elders Quorum President Bryan Molele, Solly Malatji was very happy to be part of the team.

One of the Relief Society Presidency, sister Jerminah Mokwena “As Saints we have covenanted to serve one another.

We have responsibility to seek out those in need and help them.

Mormon Helping Hands built unity and love amongst the saints, so we must press forward.

The Branch President of the church Elliot Kekana thanked all who took part in that activity.

We will go back on September 3 to complete the fence.

As we participate in Mormon Helping Hands, we share the love that God has for the world.

We find joy, peace and satisfaction that we are on the Lord’s side”.
