Hoedspruit Municipal Election standings

With a support margin of 54,74 percent, the African National Congress (ANC) secured 15 seats in the Maruleng municipality.

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) follows with 17,23 percent and five seats and the Democratic Alliance (DA) with three seats and 12,63 percent of the votes.

With an increase of 18% in votes and standing at 77.6% the DA still retained ward 1 with Christina Du Preez as the councillor.

The 2016 local government elections results show that the ruling party’s support has decreased as compared to the 2011 elections.

Councillor Mmoledi Mongadi of the ANC takes over ward 2 with 66.68 percent of the votes and a 11.08 decrease as compared to the 2011 elections.

With a 22.5 percentage plunge the ANC still retains ward 3 with councillor Victor Mametja with 55.27 percent of the votes.

Ward 4 with Samuel Shokoane in the forefront as the councillor scooped 52,26 percent of the votes.

Rebecca Malepe continues as an ANC councillor with 64.83 percent in ward 5.

Ward 6 is to be led by councillor Mosia Mathipa also from the ANC with 64.64 percent of the votes.

A staggering 26.72 drop in votes for ward 7, ANC secured a seat with Victor Shaai as the councillor.

The ANC also secured seats in ward 8 (councillor Theresia Mongadi ), ward 9 (councillor Joyce Modiba ), ward 10 (councillor Daniel Popela) and ward 11 (councillor Daniel Mogale ).

Civic Warriors Of Maruleng take over ward 12 with 54.55 percent of votes led by Jeffrey Shaai.

Ward 13 led by councillor Robert Mametja of the ANC managed to secure 48.83 percent of the votes, and ward 14 with 52.65 percent with Joyce Mahlo as their councillor .

An Independent candidate, Fistos Mahlo also secured a seat in the Municipal elections.
