Miss Giyani gets a chance to be Miss SA in Durban July

The reigning Miss Giyani, Khanyisa Malungani (20) got an opportunity that every girl dreams of, she was Miss South Africa for a day at the Durban July.

According to her she was called after she won Miss SA competition on facebook were she was asked a questions about who is Miss SA and where does she come from.

Malungani got her answers right beating hundreds of hopefuls or wannabe’s who also entered the competition.

“When I was called to be Miss SA for a day at the Durban July it felt like someone just woke me from a dream. I couldn’t believe my ears,” said Malungani.

“Being Miss SA for a day was a good experience for me because one day I want to enter the competition and win the crown,” she said. She described Miss SA Nthandoyenkosi Kunene as humble and down to earth person who didn’t let a crown to change her to look down upon other people.

She appeared on a TV show, Selimathunzi and she also had an opportunity to greet President Jacob Zuma, who was also on Durban July marquee.

“Meeting the president was humbling and was a good experience,” she added. She wore a dress by well known designer JJ Schoeman and shoes by Europa shoes art. Malungani hails from N’wamarhanga village outside Giyani, and she is currently doing her Literally Legum Baccalaureus(LBB) at the University of Pretoria.

Her brother, well-known house DJ Gami Swagga said they are proud of Khanyisa for putting the family on the map and for never disappointing them.
