Peaceful march against women and children abuse

Members of Golang-Kulani Learning centre embarked on a peaceful march escorted by the police to submit a memorandum containing awareness on women and children abuse recently.

The marchers marched to Tzaneen Magistrate Court singing slogans and holding banners. Some of the banners read; ” Golang-Kulani lobby and advocate for children and women’s rights”, “No corporal punishment is allowed”, “Feed us a balance diet” and many more.

The aim of the march was to convey the message to all the people of South Africa who are violating the children and women’s rights. “We want to showcase that we are uphold their rights.

Some of the issues they hope to see get addressed is putting a stop to women and children abuse, more police visibility, abusers facing the full might of the law, rapists not getting bail but be given life imprisonment as well as those who murder women and children.

The memorandum was received by office manager at Department of Justice, Hasani Mutarini and chief clerk, Jameson Mathebula. They were given 14 working days to give a response. Mutarini said they will make sure it reaches the right people who will be able to deal with the matter.

“We accept you memorandum and we take it serious. The mentioned issues does not only affect you but also affect the police and other stakeholders. We will take your memorandum to the correct people, be assured that the department is a very caring department. We acknowledge your memorandum, said Mutarini.

Golang-Kulani Learning centre is a non-profit organization training early childhood teachers from Greater Tzaneen , Maruleng and Great Letaba municipalities. It was established in 1992 as a training organisation for Early Childhood Development Practitioners and they are based at Nkowankowa.
