EXCLUSIVE UPDATE: Rare white lions poached at lodge

It has come to light that the two rare white lions, whose remains were confiscated this morning were poached at a well known lodge close to Tzaneen over the weekend.

Andre de Lange, of Letaba River Lodge, confirmed to the Herald that two very rare white lions were poached at the Lodge during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The lions were the cubs of the lions that acted in in the international film, The Ghost and the Darkness, a 1996 American historical adventure film staring Val Kilmer and Micheal Douglas.

The film received a mixed critical response upon release, and later won an Academy Award for Sound Editing.
