Merensky’s strongman: “I’ll be back!”
“I know the work I have to put in and will be taking the gold next year.”
George Young , manager and trainer at Merensky High School’s gymnasium, participated in the finals of the Arnold Classic Africa (a multi sport festival and expo, with patron Arnold Schwarzenegger) at the Sandton Convention Centre over the weekend.
He competed in the men’s physique junior category.
Young did not make it into the top six this year.
“I know the work I have to put in and will be taking the gold next year,” Young said
It was a great privilege for him to meet some of his role models, like Dexter Jackson (who won the Professional Bodybuilding category at the Classic last year).
Young also took part in a strict arm curl competition, where he took the gold medal in the junior category.
For him, this was an experience of a lifetime. He wants to thank everyone for their ongoing motivation and support.
He also wants to thank Merensky for always supporting him to do what he truly loves – helping him to live out the dream he is chasing.
