Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Moatsthe Ngoepe said the incident took place at Madeira village in the Sekororo area.
The suspect started attacking the deceased and chopped her with a sharp instrument to death.
The deceased, identified as 80 year-old Mpoti Mary Masekane, was found lying dead in a pool of blood inside the house with multiple open wounds on the head and throughout the body.
According to Ngoepe it is alleged that the suspect accused the deceased for practising witchcraft but the entire accusation is a subject of police investigations which are still underway.
The suspect will appear before the Naphuno Magistrate court tomorrow on a charge of murder.
