LATEST: Trichardtsdal robbery update
One person is dead and two injured after an attempted armed robbery was foiled at NTK at Trichardtsdal on Tuesday morning.
According to constable Masekela Magoro, from the Maake SAPS, two suspects entered the premises at about 07:10 on Tuesday morning.
They went to the NTK offices and held up the staff at gunpoint, demanding money.
While they were busy with the robbery, an employee managed to escape and alert security.
NTK’s security guard entered the premises and a fire fight allegedly broke out between him, some of the customers and the suspects.
One suspect was killed and the other wounded.
The wounded suspect was later transported to a local hospital.
According to Constable Magoro from Maake SAPS, a customer was wounded in his leg during the shoot out.
Magoro denied rumours that an arrest has already been made.
It was the third business that was robbed in a week.
