Bus accident deceased identified

Eight of the 10 ZCC church congregants who died on the R528 Georges Valley Road have been identified.

IDENTIFIED: Eight of the 10 people who lost their lives when a Great North Transport (GNT) bus overturned on the R528 Georges Valley Road have been identified.

Ten people died when a Great North Transport (GNT) bus they were traveling in overturned recently.

Amongst the deceased was an 11 month-old baby.

The bus was transporting residents from Makhushane, Mashishimale, Khashane, Xitlakati, Mariveni, Nkowankowa and Ramotshinyadi from Moria.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Ronel Otto said the deceased were identified as Molatelo Rebecca Pilusa, 60, Enos Mohlolane Shai, 35, Foster Sebila, 12 all from Phalaborwa.

The others are Modjadji Kwathisu Mashimbyi, 63, Rebecca Paulina Pilusa, 44 and her 11 months-old baby, Motheane Monyela, Janet Matlala Rapetswa, 53 and Mbazina Mindlovu 42 were from Giyani.

Otto said two victims still need to be identified. Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
