Company against anti-poaching

South African National Parks (SANParks) and SANParks Honorary Rangers (HR's) on Monday received a cheque from Lasher Tools for R 332 158 from the sales of the Big Five tools for anti–poaching activities. The handover took place at SANParks Head office in Pretoria.

Accepting the donation SANParks Head of Special Projects, Major General (RET) Johan Jooste thanked both SANParks Honorary Rangers and Lasher Tools for the much needed funds in the fight against illicit wildlife crime.
“Reality is the anti-poaching efforts are expensive and any support received is appreciated. We are therefore, grateful that we have corporates like Lasher Tools who go out of their normal business practices to contribute towards keeping our rhinos alive.” “SANParks is forever indebted to the many South Africans who specifically bought the Big Five Lasher Tools which contributed funds to the fight against poaching.” said Jooste.
The initiative has been in operation for the past three years and Lasher Tools have set themselves a target of reaching R2 million by July 2016.
“It is indeed gratifying that Corporate South Africa continues to believe in the fight against illicit wildlife crime, this support from Lasher comes directly after a recent Gallet Group donation of R359 100 to the SANParks anti-poaching unit,” concludes, Jooste.
