Six suspects, two allegedly in police uniforms, overpowered the Security guards whilst they were collecting money at the Primary School.
According to a witness the suspects were driving a white double cab bakkie with tinted windows.
They fired shots into the air but no one was harmed.
Tzaneen Primary would like to put parents at ease as all the children are safe.
Police are searching for the suspects.
