‘Give us electricity or we block the road’

The residents of Lusaka and Mbambamencisi outside Nkowankowa blocked the Lydenburg Road on Monday morning.

The residents of Lusaka and Mbambamencisi have blocked the Lydenburg Road on Monday morning.

The residents blocked the road with belief that their plea for electricity to be installed in their homes will be heard by relevant authorities.

They burnt tyres, woods and used stones to barricade all roads leading to town.

 

Angry resident of Lusaka and Mbambamencisi outside Nkowankowa blocked the Lydenburg Road on Monday morning, this prevented some workers and learners to get to work and school.

Motorists had to change directions and some were unable to get to their destinations.

The residents are adamant that they will go on until their demands are met.

Some of the workers stood next to the road puzzled as to how they are going to get to work.
