Be safe at ATM’s

Police advise people to be more careful when doing transactions at ATM.

This comes after a case of theft was registered at Tzaneen police station recently. Complainant alleged that one criminal was in front and the other was at the back, while he was withdrawing money at the ATM.

The one in front removed the victim’s card from the ATM after the one at the back managed to see the PIN.

They fled to another ATM to withdraw the victim’s money.

The following should be followed when withdrawing money from an ATM:

Don’t be distracted, intimidated or hurried into your transaction.

Never let a stranger touch your card.

He may have already seen your PIN and is trying to switch your card.

Be sure no one is looking over your shoulder when you key in your PIN.
