Shaya Black Pool from Ward 20 won the male soccer category of the completion, popularly known as the Wolksburg Cup after beating Impala and City Rocks 3-2 and 6-1 respectively. In ladies soccer, Lebaka Ladies thrashed Thibeni 4-0 to win the title. Matshediso Rampedi netted a brace while her team mates Lebo Rasuki and Precious Nkuna scored a goal apiece to give their team a well deserved win.
Sekgopo netball team used a home ground advantage to defeat Mighty Queens 36-6 in the finals while Rathaga Gymnastics were the winners in their category.
The winners received playing kits, trophies, medals and sports equipments from the Mayor of the Greater Letaba Municipality, City Modjadji.
Mayor Modjadji said the newly built Sekgopo Sports Complex is part of the municipality programme to develop sports facilities in rural areas.
“By developing sports facilities we are creating a conducive environment for nurturing and unearthing hidden talent in this previously disadvantaged areas,’ said Modjadji.
He said they are planning to make the tournament a family sports day where everyone will participate.
