Boy’s case referred to probation officer

A case against the teenage boys who allegedly stole electronic appliances from their school has been referred to the probation officer for assessment.

The teenagers, aged between 16 and 17 were arrested last Wednesday at Mawa village in Bolobedu after police recovered electronic appliances valued at more R100 000.

Police spokesperson, Constable Rebotile Shai said police acted on a tip-off and recovered electronic appliances stolen at Khesethwane High School before arresting the four teenagers who are learners at the school.

Shai said the recovered property include computers, printers, monitors, laminating machines, speakers and a computer case.

The suspects have been released into parental custody pending a report from the probation officer. ” The probation officer investigate the circumstances of the case and background of the suspects and make a recommendation to the court as to the appropriate action,” said Shai.
