Warrant of arrest for DA MPL
An arrest warrant for the Democratic Alliance Member of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature, Bodlani Langa was issued on Monday.
The warrant was issued after Langa failed to appear in the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court on charges of obstructing the work of police officers.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kamedi Seshoka said Langa was arrest on Mooketsi road just outside Modjadjiskloof on Friday at about 11:00.
Seshoka said members of the police Highway Patrol Unit who were doing stop and search stopped a vehicle in which Langa was a passenger. “Without provocation Langa who appeared drunk started to remonstrate with the police members who were searching the car. He was arrested and released later after paying R 500 bail,” said Seshoka.
He failed to appear in the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court to face charges relating to interrupting police officers in the lawful performance of their duties.
“At this stage we are unable to comment on the matter,” said a DA media liaison officer, Steven Mbedzi.
